When I suggested to update records at least he didn't say no to me specifically but didn't say yes either.
Haha, typicall Japanese . I would say it means no.
I remember I also had difficulties (mostly because of my lack of vocabulary) to get to know why Takashi didn't want at first to submit his GP times.
Gatchan yeh it was strange way to answer
but I guess it is what it is. I discussed it with Takashi and he explained that in Japan a lot of people behave a bit more introverted like this and language barrier being a problem plus they are not keen to meet people from online also. He even suggested meeting certain players within Japan but they were not interested to. But then some are more keen like Takashi himself (attending CDMs), and Ha Nyan who travelled to meet me in Tokyo in 2012 (plus you, Alencar, Chabanis before which we are very greatful for). I explained to Takashi that it is strange because in other games like Street Fighter and Evo tournaments there is a huge turnout with Japanese players travelling more to events internationally. But maybe there are more who would just prefer to play online / indoors rather than be that much involved. Ha Nyan also explained a similar thing to me years ago.
Yamagishi-san however was very nice and welcomed being a part of the SMK history plus is supporting some more players who will join us in the near future (and hopefully a few will be semi-active) as part of a new generation and if things go well, I am planning to (maybe) visit them in a few years if the possibility arises. On a lighter note, even if Marisa is not playing Time Trial anymore, he is helping to train the new players a little with strategies which is good, and also Akita Sounori whom I have caught up with recently to is doing the same. Akita is also long retired and is married with a child now so he won't be able to compete but would still like to play for enjoyment once in a while and said he will help to train new players. He helped to teach Takashi already how to do NBT and it is working well with his recent PAL testing
If Takashi could do a full NTSC Time Trial focus as well in future he can reach a very high rank, his GP level is already through the roof as we know!
Kedjyar: Will you do a return to NTSC NBT as well, to reach the rank you can reach?
Gatchan is performing really well!
