Very short resumé; mushroom cup was a pile of steaming crap (especially GV1), the rest was pretty good.
My soft target was a sub 35, which I almost never fail, unless I drive really bad and combine it with receiving horrible cpu trolls.
Since I drove in the 34"20s last year live at NLG, ideally I wanted to beat that time at least. I barely succeeded and finished in a 34"12. If not for mushroom cup I could have gotten a sub 34, which would have been 'perfect', but I am happy nontheless. Note that I used relatively safe marathon strats for the most part.

The stream chat especially liked Patrick's extravert appearance ( ) and commentary (with the Yoshi and Princess troll dolls  ), CI2 item antics and my yolo (you only live once) shroom on RR. 
My personal highlight was probably the move just before the finishline of MC4 in lap 4, where Mario disrupted my NBT, I recovered but in a weird angle, forcing me to dodge a stationary green (which I intentionally dropped all the way on the left). Somehow I also managed to avoid the sand.

Hahahaha, no way, I'd be happy with a top-5! And that's not false modesty; Neo, Sami, ScouB and you are just better at SMK multiplayer.

Remember CDM doesn't even feature runs of such nature, which are very focused on consistency. Even in the CDM GP competition itself, you don't need this lvl of consistency to win; what you need is peak efforts in 3/5 races per cup or opponent disturbing tactics.  A run like the one I had at ESA would probably not be sufficient to reach the final, since the other guy only needs to race 3 better races out of 5 (a little more risk) per cup. Then he can affort to screw up the other 2 (which probably comes with the territory of taking extra risk to try and peak at every course). He could also suffice with driving only 1 better race and hit me with items for the other 2 to make the difference, Harold stylee 
So yeah, I think the metagame is completely different in a crucial manner.

Besides, Neo gets sub 34 on full cup runs every try.

Nah, I was actually being serious. That said, my aim is to reach a bronze at GP this year.

A 3^rd place match in GP between you and Geo would be awesome since both of you never got any medal there and lost that match in 2005, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012.
