We have to choose between the 2 formulas of Shakedown. To recap, the shakedown is the first part of the SB where matches are not programmed according to the temporary ranking but only by matching groups of different levels! After a first panel of test with 38 players, we can not say that the final ranking is clearly less effective with the high option. Of course the top player ranking is more influenced by mid-player draw but also here with a small proportion! And with the high option, the top 8 is not yet guaranteed to face each other (miss 2 or 3 matches only...)
With 38 players : * Light Shakedown is 6 matches long
* High Shakedown is 9 matches long
So the question is :
* The most important thing is to have the more effective ranking for the finals => Light Shakedown
* The most important thing is to play the more various player => High ShakedownBut this question could also be debate and settle the TT day, with the program in front of everybody...
